Members Group for general discussion

Public·61 members

Dear GC-SARA members and subscribers, We would be very grateful for your assistance with our upcoming events on September 20th, 3pm Atlantic time, and November, *date & time TBD* . We are seeking volunteers to act as “discussants” or Chairs in our live Q&A sessions for these events, entitled “New Voices in Decolonial Student Mobility - Dialogues between emerging and established scholars”, Parts I and II.

  1. Visit our Sign Up Sheets: September event & November event now and read the abstracts.

  2. If you are willing to act as discussant, simply type your name in column F, we’ll be in touch.

  3. Feel free to contact the presenter using the email given before the live Q&A.

  4. Watch the presenter’s prior fifteen-minute video submission on their work. For the live Q&A on September 20th, the videos will be uploaded for all event attendees by September 13th. For the November event, there will be a longer window, to be specified.

  5. At the live Q&A, join the Zoom call 10 minutes ahead of time to ensure connectivity, then lead the session as above.

Though our title designates “established scholars”, it is naturally not expected that discussants will have a command of the specific context of the presenter’s project: if it’s broadly about internationalization policy or identity construction, a general knowledge of these is more than sufficient. Whether you are a scholar or a scholar-practitioner, you can help us achieve our goal of offering presenters a chance to explore their developing work in a spirit of mutual support and academic kinship. We’re keenly aware of the short notice of this request! If you can help us out, please sign up by end of Wednesday September 7th. A full line-up will be posted a week before each event at the latest. Feel free to email if you have any queries. We very much look forward to seeing you at the events. Best wishes, The Events Team
